President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the European Union should demonstrate a clear vision of relations with its closest partners – Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova – at the December summit of the Eastern Partnership.
He said this during the opening of the Batumi International Conference on July 19, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. The head of state noted that the next Eastern Partnership summit is to take place in December. According to him, this is very important, but the lack of a strategic vision of the Eastern Partnership goals on the part of the European Union makes this format "not so substantive, half-alive." "We do not need a summit for the sake of a summit. We have people dying, we have a war. We need a political content and a geopolitical vision of the future of this initiative; otherwise, to be honest, the expediency of this in general is not clear. The next summit should show a clear vision of relations with the closest partners on the part of the European Union," Zelensky said.
