The Ukrainian national team scored three points in the group, finished third but managed to reach Euro-2020 last 16 thanks to additional indicators. After the failure in the match with Austria (0:1), the Ukrainian national team became dependent on the results of the remaining games.

The four best teams out of six, who took third places in their quartets, advanced to the Euro play-offs. The main indicator is the points scored: the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Portugal, scoring four each, shared the first three positions.

Ukraine, Finland and Slovakia have three points each. The fate of the last place was decided by the best goal difference of the Shevchenko team, -1. Finnish players have -2, Slovaks have -5.

The head of the UAF National Teams Committee Miron Markevich exclusively told Metaratings that he believed in a successful outcome for the team and that they will advance to the last 16 until the end:

"As they say, hope dies last, and, of course, I also believed that Lady Luck would smile at us. And when, as if everything worked out as it should be, I thought: such a fortunate combination of circumstances can only happen once in a lifetime".

Markevich also said that the leaders of the national team, Olexander Zinchenko and Ruslan Malinovsky, should play better. The head of the UAF National Teams Committee believes that the Ukrainian national team has good chances in the play-offs. He thinks that Sweden, the future rival in the 1/8, is about the same level as Shevchenko's team.
