"The reality that has recently emerged because of COVID-19 is very important. We all know that digital vaccination certificates will be created sooner or later, they [Europeans] call them ‘green certificates’, the EU is now working on this. It is important for us to be on par with this work and we are already on par with this work. We want our digital certificates and European certificates of the EU countries to be mutually recognized, we are working on this," Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva said at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Digitalization", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As reported, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that Ukraine planned to introduce digital COVID-19 vaccination certificates from July 1. A certificate will be both in paper and digital form, it will be entered into the "Diia" application.
European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton said that the European Union planned to introduce certificates from June 15. They will contain information about vaccination or acquisition of immunity to coronavirus. It is envisaged that these certificates will be issued free of charge in digital or paper form to all EU citizens, as well as to third-country nationals who legally reside in the territory of the member states.
