NewsRSSShmyhal not ruling out extension of quarantine in Ukraine until August
11 of May 2021 г.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said that the model of adaptive quarantine in Ukraine may be extended after June 30.
"Obviously, we will extend it [quarantine] until August. If we manage to vaccinate the majority of people by Independence Day, of course, we will look for ways to ease it," Shmyhal said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Ukrinform reports. According to him, the model of adaptive quarantine provides for the introduction of restrictive measures if the number of COVID-19 cases begin to rise, but if not - the country lives in the "green" zone. "So the issue of new lockdown depends on discipline, vaccination and how this pandemic develops in the world, whether new strains appear or not. These are key indicators, I think there are no other indicators that could influence the model of adaptive quarantine,” the prime minister said. He also noted that the government does not plan to introduce a nationwide lockdown. Strict restrictive measures could be introduced only in some regions as it was in the previous wave of the pandemic. As Ukrinform reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution on the extension of adaptive quarantine in Ukraine until June 30, with four levels of epidemic danger. Last week Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that Ukraine had survived the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic. другие новости
