NewsRSSUkraine, UK looking for ways to liberalise visa regime
14 of October 2020 г.
The United Kingdom and Ukraine are looking for mutual ways to liberalise the visa regime.
"There is an understanding between us and we are looking for better solutions. It will take time, this process has always been difficult, but we are moving forward," Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Vadym Prystaiko said while participating in the event of the British-Ukrainian community, an Ukrinform correspondent reported. According to him, a special commission from the UK will soon arrive in Ukraine to study the system of issuance of biometric passports and assess the quality of cooperation between the government agencies. "I hope that, in the end, cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Home Office, as well as between the law enforcement agencies of the countries, will allow liberalising the visa regime for Ukrainians," the Ambassador said. Ukraine, he added, is currently asking the United Kingdom to introduce separate rules for different categories of visa applicants, making it easier for journalists, businesspeople, students, etc. to obtain entry permits. "We will define certain areas in which it will be easier to make progress and report to the people," the diplomat said. Prystaiko also called on the UK to carefully obey the current rules for issuing visas to Ukrainians. "What I want from the United Kingdom is to obey the rules, to limit the waiting time, and if a decision is made that someone can come, this person should be able to really enter the country," he summed up. другие новости
