NewsRSSPM Shmyhal: Quarantine to be extended after May 22
12 of May 2020 г.
The Government will extend quarantine after May 22 as Ukraine still sees coronavirus peak.
"Officially, the quarantine is until May 22, but this is not a final date. We will extend it," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said on the air of 1+1 TV channel. According to him, the Government now determines when each of the five stages of quarantine exit will be implemented. "It is difficult to make forecasts today. Now we see the peak of morbidity. We have had a steady situation over the past seven or eight days. The number of patients does not increase in percentage terms. A ratio between new patients and those already ill even declines a bit. We haven’t had a single day when the number of those who recovered exceeded or was equal to the number of those who fell ill. This is a very important turning point when we will understand that we have passed the peak," the Prime Minister added. As reported, the quarantine in educational institutions and a number of other measures to combat the spread of coronavirus infection have been introduced in Ukraine since March 12. The quarantine has been extended until May 22, but the restrictive measures are eased from May 11. Earlier, Denys Shmyhal announced a gradual five-stage quarantine exit in accordance with the reduction in morbidity. As of May 12, Ukraine has confirmed 16,023 coronavirus cases, including 3,370 recoveries and 425 deaths. Over the past 24 hours, 375 new cases have been recorded. другие новости
