NewsRSSMarkarova introduces head of Office of Financial Control
6 of February 2020 г.
Ukrainian Finance Minister Oksana Markarova has introduced newly appointed Head of the Office of Financial Control Ihor Buhrak to the staff of the agency.
Markarova wrote this on her Facebook page - Ukrinform. "Today, I introduced Ihor Bugrak, the new head of the Office of Financial Control, which we are creating on the basis of the State Audit Service," Markarova said. She stressed that the Office of Financial Control would not duplicate the functions of parliamentary control, as was the case before, and would be a real European institution. "After the return of the Office to the control of the Finance Ministry, we have an ambitious and challenging task - to quickly reorganize into a small but very institutionally strong body that will focus on public companies and monitor public procurement and conduct the necessary work with law enforcement agencies," Markarova said. The Ukrainian government earlier reorganized the State Audit Service and set up on its basis the Office of Financial Control - a central executive body in the form of an inspectorate whose activity is directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the finance minister of Ukraine and which ensures the formation and implementation of public policy in the sphere of public financial control. The decision to form the Office was made by the Cabinet of Ministers in December 2019. On January 24, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Buhrak head of the State Audit Service of Ukraine. Prior to that, he served as director of the Finance Ministry's department of internal financial control.
