OSCE records about 750 explosions in Donbas over weekend – report

Between the evenings of January 31 and February 2, the OSCE SMM recorded about 400 explosions in Donetsk region and 350 ones in Luhansk region.

The OSCE SMM said this in a report issued on February 3, based on information from the monitoring teams received as of 19:30 on February 2, 2020 - Ukrinform.

"In Donetsk region, between the evenings of 31 January and 1 February, the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations, including fewer explosions (about 80), compared with the previous reporting period (125 explosions)," the report says.

The majority of ceasefire violations, including the majority of explosions, were recorded in areas south-east of Svitlodarsk (government-controlled, 57km north-east of Donetsk).

Between the evenings of 1 and 2 February, the Mission recorded more ceasefire violations, including more explosions (about 320), compared with the previous 24 hours. More than 80 per cent of ceasefire violations were recorded south-south-east of Svitlodarsk and in areas northwest of Novohryhorivka (non-government-controlled, 61km north-east of Donetsk), including the majority of explosions.

“In Luhansk region, between the evenings of 31 January and 1 February, the Mission recorded fewer ceasefire violations, including, however, more explosions (about 180), compared with the previous reporting period (about 100 explosions),” the report says.

The majority of ceasefire violations were recorded in areas west-north-west of Sentianivka (formerly Frunze, non-government-controlled, 44km west of Luhansk).

Between the evenings of 1 and 2 February, the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations, including fewer explosions (170), compared with the previous 24 hours. The majority of ceasefire violations were recorded in areas west and west-south-west of Trokhizbenka (government-controlled, 32km north-west of Luhansk).
