The Ukrainian side is preparing several proposals for the Trilateral Contact Group talks in Minsk regarding new areas of disengagement of forces and equipment along the contact line in Donbas.
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko stated this in an interview with UNIAN news agency. “The Ukrainian side has already made a decision on new areas. We are preparing some alternative options, because the Trilateral Contact Group will be involved again, and within one of its subgroups, namely a subgroup on security issues, these areas will be considered and agreed upon,” said Prystaiko. According to him, the disengagement of forces at the current stage should take place in the areas of significant humanitarian importance. He also noted that Ukraine wants this issue to be resolved as quickly as possible. "Even the next meeting would be good for us," the agency quoted the minister as saying. Prystaiko also stressed that the disengagement of forces should be mirrored, so it is important to agree on a list of areas at a meeting in Minsk.
