In its ruling, Kyiv District Administrative Court obliged the Cabinet of Ministers to set the living wage in accordance with the provisions of the laws of Ukraine on the living wage and on state social standards and state social guarantees. Kyiv District Administrative Court opened proceedings in the case of a lawsuit filed by human rights activist Batryn against the Cabinet, in which he asked the court to declare unlawful the government's actions when setting the living wage in Ukraine for 2019. Batryn said the living wage of UAH 1,218 set by the government does not meet the criteria of the current standard of living of Ukrainians.
