"The Supreme Court has rejected a cassation complaint from Mikheil Saakashvili in the case on his claim against the administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the Interior Ministry of Ukraine regarding the invalidation and annulment of the decision and the action on readmission of the plaintiff to the Republic of Poland," the report reads.

Thus, the Supreme Court upheld the rulings of court of previous instances dismissing Saakashvili's claims.

The resolution enters into force on its adoption, is final and cannot be subject to appeal.

The decision was made during a court hearing on November 19, 2019. The full text of the resolution will be made public within five days.

Saakashvili acquired Ukrainian citizenship in 2015. He was appointed chairman of Odesa Regional State Administration. Saakashvili tendered his resignation in the autumn of 2016, and on July 26, 2017, President Petro Poroshenko stripped him of Ukrainian citizenship.

On September 10, 2017, Saakashvili broke into Ukraine from Poland without passing border control from the Ukrainian side.

He was deported to Poland on February 12, 2018.

On May 28, 2019, President Volodymyr Zelensky returned Ukrainian citizenship to Saakashvili by amending Poroshenko's decree.
