Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine, Yasar Halit Cevik, has welcomed the beginning of the disengagement of forces and hardware from the Zolote disengagement area, the OSCE SMM's press service has reported.
According to the report, additional SMM patrols in the Zolote area, assisted by static cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles, on October 29 observed the launch of flares by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the armed formations, signaling both sides' readiness to disengage, and subsequently "Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and members of the armed formations exiting the disengagement area, together with their weapons." The disengagement of forces and hardware on both sides started at section No. 2 near the settlement of Zolote-4 in Luhansk region at 12:00 on October 29. Joint Forces Commander Lieutenant General Volodymyr Kravchenko said on October 29 that the OSCE SMM recorded the latest shelling instance in the Zolote-4 disengagement area on October 18. He also said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were ready, in case of any provocative actions by the enemy, to provide protection to civilians. At the same time, the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination reported on October 30 that on October 28, Russian occupiers fired at residential buildings in Zolote-4 in Luhansk region. другие новости
