NewsRSSVerkhovna Rada approves new composition of Central Election Commission

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appointed 17 new members of the Central Election Commission.
Parliamentarians approved each nominee separately, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. Oksana Boyarchuk (nominee from the Servant of the People faction), Yuriy Buhlak (European Solidarity), Olena Hataullina (Servant of the People), Andriy Hevko (Holos), Viktoria Hlushchenko (Batkivshchyna) , Vitaliy Hren (Servant of the People), Oleh Didenko (Servant of the People), Serhiy Dubovyk (Opposition Platform - For Life), Andriy Yevstihneyev (Servant of the People), Iryna Yefremova (Servant of the People), Oleksandra Karmaza (Servant of the People), Pavlo Liubchenko (Servant of the People), Yuri Myroshnychenko (Opposition Platform - For Life), Volodymyr Perepeliuk (Servant of the People), Vitaliy Plukar (Servant of the People), Serhiy Postivyi (Servant of the People), Yuri Frytskyi (Servant of the People) became the new CEC members. On September 9, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Parliament a motion for early termination of powers of the CEC members. In particular, the President noted that the CEC allegedly acted with prejudice and contrary to the principles determined by the electoral legislation during the registration of candidates for the elections. The motion also highlighted that 28 CEC decisions were revoked in courts.
