The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, plans to consider the draft state budget for 2020 at first reading on October 18, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov has said.
"The draft state budget was presented on September 20. I would like to remind all MPs that their proposals must be submitted by October 1. The budget committee must finalize them by October 15. The draft state budget for 2020 will be submitted for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine tentatively on October 18," he said at a meeting of the parliament's conciliatory council on Tuesday.
On September 15, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted the bill on Ukraine's state budget for 2020 to the Verkhovna Rada. State budget revenues are projected at UAH 1.079 trillion, including revenues of the general fund at UAH 962.7 billion. Expenditures are projected at UAH 1.17 trillion. Public debt payments in 2020 will amount to about UAH 438.1 billion, including UAH 145.2 billion to be used to service public debt and UAH 292.9 billion to repay public debt. At the same time, Ukraine plans to borrow about UAH 380 billion UAH next year.
According to the document, Ukraine's economic growth next year should accelerate to 3.3% of GDP and inflation is expected to slow to 6%. The minimum salary was laid down at UAH 4,723.
While presenting the draft budget for 2020 at the Verkhovna Rada, Finance Minister Oksana Markarova stressed that the document was not final and that the figures set out might change before second reading.
