NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine posted UAH 24.7 billion in net profit over the first half of 2019, which is almost twice as much as for the relevant period last year, the company’s press service reported.
“Over the first six months of 2019, Naftogaz group posted UAH 24.7 billion in net profit, which is almost twice as much as for the relevant period last year. The Integrated Gas Business and Gas Transit segments were major contributors to the increase in profit,” reads the report. Total pre-tax profit over the reporting period made up UAH 31.9 billion, which exceeds the 2018 result by more than 79%. Naftogaz also reminded that a decrease in pre-tax profit in 2018 was due to expenses totaling UAH 4.8 billion in VAT compensation arising from an arbitration award in the transit case with Russia’s Gazprom.
