Trump made a corresponding statement after the meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, answering a question from an Ukrinform correspondent in New York.

“Well, we’re working with Ukraine. And we want other countries to work with Ukraine. When I saw “work,” I’m referring to money. They should put up more money. We put up a lot of money. I gave you anti-tank busters that — frankly, President Obama was sending you pillows and sheets. And I gave you anti-tank busters. And a lot of people didn’t want to do that, but I did it,” Trump answered when asked whether military support for Ukraine would be continued.

The U.S. President also expressed hope that the Ukrainian leader would be able to find a common language with Russian President Vladimir Putin to "solve your problem," and believes that "Putin would like to do something."

“That would be a tremendous achievement. And I know you’re trying to do that,” he summed up.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky makes a working visit to the United States on September 23-26 to participate in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
