 NewsRSSZelensky proposes to reduce number of MPs to 300

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky suggests reducing the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to 300 members and introducing the proportional election system in the parliamentary elections.
This is stated in the wording of the bill No. 1017 on the amendments to Article 76 and Article 77 of the Constitution of Ukraine (concerning the reduction of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and consolidation of the proportional election system) published on the Parliament’s website. As stated in the explanatory note to the document, the bill proposes to reduce the composition of the members of the Parliament of Ukraine to 300 people. It also provides for the introduction of the command of the state language as an electoral qualification. In addition, the bill proposes to enshrine in the Constitution the proportional election system in the parliamentary elections. Отправить в:      другие новости
