NewsRSSPoroshenko says Ukraine will not change its course for joining NATO
14 of May 2019 г.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who is taking part in events marking the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership program in Brussels, has said that Ukraine will resolutely and consistently move towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
He told this to journalists after a meeting with European Council President Donald Tusk on Monday, May 13, according to an Ukrinform correspondent. "Today, we had meetings with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and European Council President Donald Tusk. Very important talks were held at NATO. We summed up the results of the past five years. We clearly outlined further steps regarding the tools to be provided to Ukraine, including the Membership Action Plan, the confirmation of the decisions of the Bucharest Summit and the NATO Summit in Brussels in 2018, held with my participation, which clearly declared that NATO's doors are open to Ukraine," Poroshenko said. He said that Ukraine would "firmly and resolutely" continue the reforms that will ensure the country's membership of NATO. "I thanked the Secretary General and the whole team, the whole of NATO, for very powerful and important support in preserving Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and independence, and in implementing defense and security reforms that are highly appreciated by our NATO partners," Poroshenko said. другие новости
