NewsRSSPoroshenko says law on impeachment necessary, ready for discussion
9 of April 2019 г.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the law on impeachment is necessary and is ready for discussions to work out a balanced document.
He said this live on the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV channel, according to an Ukrinform correspondent. "I firmly believe that the law on impeachment is necessary, as well as the law on temporary investigative commissions. I am convinced that the parliament should have a discussion on this matter, and this law should be adopted as the responsibility of the president if he violates the constitution or commits a crime. I am ready to delegate my representatives to discuss and adopt a balanced compromise version," Poroshenko said. He said he was the first president to discuss this issue and added that he wanted to be a leader who leads the people and the country. "I do not want to be a populist, just say what people like and win the election at such a cost. I want to be a leader who leads a nation, people, country," Poroshenko said. He stressed that Ukrainians should make a conscious choice on April 21 so as to further build a successful country. The second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine will be held on April 21. Showman Volodymyr Zelensky and the current head of state, Petro Poroshenko, reached the run-off. другие новости
