PACE’s press service informed this in a statement on March 27.
The delegation headed by Angela Smith (United Kingdom, SOC) will observe the conduct of the March 31 presidential election alongside observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
"The delegation, accompanied by a member of the Council of Europe’s expert legal body the Venice Commission, is due to meet the presidential candidates or their representatives, election officials and representatives of civil society and the media, before observing the ballot," the statement says.
A joint press conference to deliver the observers’ preliminary conclusions is scheduled to take place in Kyiv on Monday, April 1.
