"In 2023, it would be quite realistic to begin negotiations on joining the EU and receiving the NATO Membership Action Plan," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said during a conversation with Kyiv residents, the press service of the Head of State reports.
He also noted that the issue of the MAP could be raised already at the NATO Summit in London in December 2019. According to the President, he had recently written about that in a letter to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
"We will join these most powerful organizations as a regional leader, as a country that has already significantly strengthened the eastern flank of the Alliance. As a country that has protected from Russia's invasion not only itself, but also the whole European civilization," the President underlined.
