The government this year intends to continue most of agriculture support programs that were launched in 2018.
Acting Agrarian Policy Minister Maksym Martyniuk said this in an interview with Ukrinform. "We believe that the programs developed in 2018 correspond to the needs of the industry, so their structure will be preserved by 90%," the official said. According to Martyniuk, the government consecutively implements specially developed programs, which allow focusing on the sectors that require assistance the most, or those sectors where investing becomes complicated due to the long payback period. The first category includes livestock farming, the second one - gardening. Also, among the priorities of the government are the program of compensation for the cost of agricultural equipment, which has proven itself good over the past two years, as well as supporting the development of farming as the basis for the formation of a middle class in rural areas and the possibility of overcoming crisis phenomena in villages, particularly this concerns social sector, the official said. "We will significantly improve the farmer support program, making it as simple and comfortable as possible," Martyniuk assured.
