"On November 21, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel and authorized First Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv to sign it on behalf of Ukraine," reads the report.
The work on the development of the Agreement was launched in 2015. Before the final completion of the negotiation process on March 28, 2018, seven rounds of talks had been held between the two countries so that to harmonize the provisions of the Agreement aimed at removing barriers to mutual trade in goods and services, promoting cooperation between enterprises, establishing strong ties between business communities. According to the estimates of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the signing of the Agreement will raise Ukrainian exports to Israel and improve Ukraine's trade balance with Israel.
The Economic Development Ministry emphasizes that the Agreement between Ukraine and Israel will not apply to the territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol and temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions until the full control of the Ukrainian government over these territories is restored.
