Reaching the agreement between the IMF and Kyiv on a new stand-by macro-financial assistance program is a key step towards ensuring Ukraine’s future economic stability.
"The G7 Ambassadors welcome the staff level agreement reached between the IMF and the Ukrainian authorities on a new Stand-By Arrangement. A key step towards ensuring Ukraine’s future economic stability and continued economic growth," reads the statement of the Canadian Chair of the G7 Ambassadors’ Support Group in Kyiv posted on Twitter.
At an extraordinary government’s meeting on October 19, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the increase in gas prices for the population by 23.5% starting from November 1. Immediately after that, the IMF made a public statement on reaching the agreement with the Government of Ukraine on a new stand-by arrangement.
