Ukraine´s real GDP grew by 3.6% in the second quarter of 2018 compared to the same period last year, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reports.
"Real GDP grew by 0.9% in the second quarter of 2018 compared to the previous quarter (taking into account the seasonal factor) and by 0.9% compared to the second quarter of 2017,¨ reads the report. "Ukraine's economy has been growing ten quarters in a row,” the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers commented on the data provided by the State Statistics Service. It is noted that among the factors of this year's growth was an increase in commodity exports. "In the first half of the year, the growth of this indicator amounted to 12.7% compared to the relevant figure last year. In absolute terms, commodity exports exceeded $23.2 billion. Export of services from Ukraine grew by 5.7% to $ 5.38 billion and exceeded imports. The positive balance of trade in services for the first half of the year amounted to $2.8 billion," the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers stated. The European Union remains the key foreign market for Ukraine. Exports of goods and services to the EU exceeded $11.1 billion in the first half of the year. другие новости
