Poroshenko: Integration to EU and NATO priority of Ukraine’s foreign policy
12 of July 2018 г.
President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that integration to the EU and NATO is the priority of Ukraine’s foreign policy, which should be enshrined in the Constitution.
He stated this at a joint briefing with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during the NATO summit in Brussels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Integration to the EU and NATO is the priority of our foreign policy. This civilizational choice is strongly supported by Ukrainian nation. That is why I have intention to fix this strategic course in the Constitution of Ukraine,¨ Poroshenko stated.
He also added that it is crucially important that in the statement of this summit ¨we have reconfirmed that the door of NATO is open for Ukraine, for Georgia. We are committed to continue deep modernization of our country in institutional, political and economic dimensions. Our joint efforts to build successful, prosperous and resilient Ukraine is the best response to the Russian aggression and propaganda.¨
