13 of June 2018 г.
The Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and Poland has stressed the strategic nature of relations between Kyiv and Warsaw, urged Russia to immediately stop aggression and release Ukrainian political prisoners, and called on the international community to continue to exert pressure on Russia.
This is stated in a joint statement adopted after the tenth meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and Poland, according to an Ukrinform correspondent. "On June 12, 2018, Warsaw hosted the tenth meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland, as a result of which the parties: ... urge the Russian Federation to immediately cease armed aggression against Ukraine, including to cease occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions; express grave concern over the lack of progress in ending Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, which Russia deliberately continues," reads the statement. In the document, representatives of both sides call on the international community to intensify pressure on Russia, which "through its aggressive and unlawful actions poses a serious threat to international peace and security," and also demand "to release Ukrainian citizens groundlessly imprisoned in Russian prisons." Ukrainian and Polish MPs urged Russia to "withdraw its troops and armaments from occupied territories, stop attacks on SMM representatives and stop funding and arming those responsible for violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine." "Both countries believe that Nord Stream 2 is a political project that endangers not only European energy security but also solidarity on the European continent," the statement reads. The deputies also agreed to hold the next, 11th meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and Poland in 2019. другие новости
